Games have come a long way in terms of gameplay, graphics and the whole experience in general. Games were just for kids and weren't that realistic just 10 years ago but now games feel more realistic that real life. People are playing games day in and day out. Here are the top 6 most sold games of all time.

          6. Super Mario Bros:

Super Mario Bros was first published in 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This was the predecessor of the widely popular 1983 game Mario Bros. The game was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka and was praised worldwide and managed to sell more than 58 million copies which was a huge milestone at that time.

The game follows Mario, the protagonist of the series. In the multiplayer Mario's brother Luigi is controlled by the second player. The objective is to rescue Princess Toadstool from the evil king Koopa(Bowser) by racing through the Mushroom Kingdom and dodging the forces of Bowser. The player can collect several power-ups to defeat those forces with ease.

          5. PUBG:

Upto 100 unknown players drop on an Island, find supplies like guns, ammo, medicines and try to eliminate each other. The last person or team if played in teams to service is the winner and receives a special WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER by the game. This is a rather simple and raw game compared to the futuristic games coming out now-a-days.

          4. Wii Sports:

Wii Sports property has one of the most interesting history in terms of video games at least. The first or the 1.0 version ( pre-release) of the game was only released in North America on November 19, 2006. Following month the 1.1 version was released in Japan, Australia and Europe. Then a couple months later the 1.0 version was replaced by the 1.1 version of the game in North America. Tha game was the third sports game included with the launch of a Nintendo System as it was a pack-in game with the Nintendo Console in all over Japan. Now the game is available as a part of the Nintendo selects collection of games.

Wii Sports consists of five different games which are tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. The player is given a Wii remote to control the characters by mimicking the gestures of the selected game. For instance if the player choses golf, he has to swing his hands like he is playing golf in real life and his character will swing the golf bar in game. The rules and gameplay are simple making it easier to understand for new players and kids. The player is given or penalized skill points based on their performance.

          3. Tetris:

It is a puzzle game created in 1984 by a Soviet software engineer Alexey Pajitnov. It has a history of dispute of ownership by multiple companies thus has been launched multiple times by multiple publishers on different platforms. But in 1996 the legal rights were given to Henk Rogers, co-founder of the game.

The game introduced a rather different approach towards puzzle games. The game adds several shapes which constantly fall from the top of the screen to bottom and the player has to align them by stacking them on top of each other. Perfectly aligned shapes disappear from the screen and give the player points and more space to keep on playing. If the player is unable to stack the shapes properly and they touch the top of the screen, the game ends.
